There are many Pitcher plants, often called Monkey's Cup, all are tropical, but this one can withstand quite cold temperatures in winter. The plant needs high humidity to produce the pitchers, it also needs a supply of insects for it to devour and produce its nutrients. This is why I have placed it over the pond where there is a constant supply of insects and high humidity. This year has been so cold to date that it is not doing too well at the moment, but I am hopeful that the weather will change to being warmer when it will do better.
