The inflorescence is a dense raceme of tubular flowers carried on a long stalk. There are several colours of Veltheimia from pink through Orange to red and also multi colours. This is another plant from South Africa and as such does best with a period of drought when the leaves dry off, but it can also continue to grow all year round without a dormant period. The bulb is not planted deep and is just on or below the surface.
