This pond started as a small narrow brick built pond attached to the shed. Being built up there was less chance of young kids falling in. It was north facing and at an area I could not utilise with plants easily and under the Weigelia and grape vine. As the fishes grew the first extension in an L shape to catch more sun was added. The fish grew larger again and this part was made wider and deeper. The last addition I think. The water plants are grown in pots and clipped to the wall by a wire rail running around the outside edge of the pond at the top.
