This picture shows the bottle brush in full flower in the early summer. The leaves can reach to about 12 inches (30 cm). The flower heads look like a bottle brush hence its name. It grows well in my sandy soil and will also do well in heavy clay. It prefers damp and can be grown in a bog where it will spread rapidly.
