This photograph shows the flowers of Crinum. The bulb is a large bulb, up to 6 inches(16cm) thick at the base, and looking like a large onion. During the winter the leaves die back and regrows in the spring. The strap leaves can be up to 5 feet (1.5mtrs) long. It flowers in July to August. The flower looks just like lilies and adds stateliness and beauty to any garden.
