Caused By:-     The Fungi Pseudomonas prunorum or syringae

Description

Areas of bark may flatten and sink inwards. The damage areas may ooze resin. Affected branches may not open buds or if they do they wither and die soon after opening. leaves may not develop properly due to lack of nutrients and may yellow prematurely. Control

Prune out damaged areas and spray with copper based fungicide like Bordeaux mixture. Sprays should be applied several times of the year. A winter tar wash or spraying with Jayes fluid may help.
