My Australian Bottle Brush shrub is flowering now. Last year it did the same. The flowers did not last long and it went on to flower again in June. This plant flowers along the stem of each shoot, therefore if you want more flowers you must prune each shoot during its growing season. It does not like being pruned to stems without leaves as it tends to die back. When I prune it I always leave a few leaves. If it sis not pruned each stem progressively gets longer until they flop over. I lose the seed pods, which stays on the stem for up to two yewars, as I prune it soon after it has flowered.
